I went to Game 2 of the World Series !! Going to a World Series game that my favorite team, the Red Sox, played in had been on my bucket list for quite some time. In spite of previous World Series opportunities, I never took the initiative to actually buy the tickets. Although I can now check this off, I see I should have been clearer and stated that it would be a World Series game that they actually WON!
But I digress….
As I watched Game 1 on Wednesday evening, DO IT NOW resonated so strongly that I started to look for tickets online. Determined, I explored every possible option to acquire tickets without having to sell one of my grandkids to get them!!
Not only did I go to the game, I surprised my oldest grandson with a ticket – the absolute BEST gift I’ve given anyone on the spur of the moment! The entire adventure was a last-minute escapade and a direct result of developing DO IT NOW habit. Attending the game was an awesome experience, and sharing it with Zach was absolutely priceless. We left the game exhilarated in spite of the final score. We shopped for a souvenir shirt, and took two subway lines back to South Station to take the train.
And now for the rest of the story….
By the time we got to the train station, the last train had left! As a matter of fact, the entire station was about to close! In the excitement, I had written down the times that Zach and I had to take the train and the subways TO the game, not FROM the game – uh oh! I never confirmed that the trains ran later on game nights just like the subway did. I guess it is time to work on a new habit of better due dilligence!
